Verdi 200

Saturday, April 5, 2014
Symphony Hall
Duluth Entertainment Convention Center
Duluth, Minnesota

Bridges: Verdi 200To commemorate the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth, the Minnesota Chorale performed his incomparable “Messa da Requiem,” one of the pinnacles of symphonic choral literature. For this concert, the Chorale traveled to Duluth, Minnesota, for a first-ever joint performance with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, its chorus, and singers from the University of MN-Duluth, sharing Verdi’s stirring masterpiece with audiences in northern Minnesota. The Chorale brought its professionalism, dedication to artistic excellence, and acclaimed community-engagement programs to this collaboration, including an InChoir session for Duluth audiences, led by Chorale Artistic Director Kathy Saltzman Romey.
